Diabetes and Endocrine Wellness Center
On May 15, 2019, the State Committee of Public Health voted to make gabapentin a scheduled V medication, effective November 18, 2019. This decision was based on its potential for abuse and the need to properly monitor how it is prescribed in Alabama.
Effective November 1, 2019, our practice will no longer prescribe gabapentin for patients. We will be happy to refer you to a neurologist to treat your neuropathic symptoms.
Beginning: January 2019
Our office will no longer complete federal government forms for diabetic patients who are treated with insulin and operate a commercial vehicle in interstate commerce.
